January is Poverty Month So, I thought I would take a second to shed some light onto the situation. Poverty is a serious issue throughout the world but I'm going to focus on all of us here in the United States for a moment. In the united states 29.8% of the population—or 95 million—live close to poverty, with incomes less than two times that of their poverty thresholds. In 2017, there are 46.7 million Americans living in poverty that is total population greater than Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Kansas and Nebraska combined. That means that this country that everyone has made such a fuse about “making great again” is letting 141.7 million people live without being able to make all of their most basic needs because cash flow is an issue.
